Samantha was raised in Chennai and pursued a career in modeling during her late teens. Despite signing up to Ravi Varman's Moscowin Kavery in 2007, her first release was the critically acclaimed 2010 Telugu romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave directed by Gautham Menon. She went on to appear in several commercially successful Telugu films like Brindavanam, Dookudu, Eega and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Her 2013 film Attarintiki Daredi is regarded as the highest grossing film in the history of Telugu Cinema establishing herself as one of the most sought after actresses of her time.
In 2013, Samantha became the second actress after Revathi to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the same year, for films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega, respectively.
Samantha was born to a Malayali mother and a Telugu father on April 28, 1987 and was raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu becoming fluent in Tamil language.[4] Despite her mixed ethnic background, Samantha has cited that she sees herself as a Tamil, as she was brought up speaking Tamil and English at home.[5][6] As part of her education, Samantha completed her schooling from St.Stephens Matriculation school, Pallavaram, Chennai and did her Higher secondary in Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar. She graduated with a commerce and obtained a B.Com degree from Stella Maris College, Chennai.[5]
In an interview with The Times of India in 2012, Samantha revealed that she is deeply in love and quite happy in her relationship. She stated, "We are going very strong and I am very happy". But the actress refused to say the name of the person.[44]
Shruti Haasan
Shruti Rajalakshmi Haasan (born 28 January 1986) is an Indian actress, singer ,music composer and musician. Who works in the South Indian film industry and Bollywood. Her parents are noted actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika.[1]As a child artist, she sang in films and appeared in a guest role in a film called Benki Shivanna, before making her adult acting debut in the 2009 action drama, Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film in Telugu, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friend and 7aum Arivu. In 2012, she starred in Gabbar Singh, Telugu remake of Dabangg, which also was her first major commercial success as an actress. After several successful films like Balupu, Ramayya Vasthavayya, Yevadu and Race Gurram, she establishes herself as one of the leading contemporary actress in the Telugu Film Industry.She has also continued her stint in music through work as a singer in Indian languages, a career in music direction beginning with her father's production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album.
Hansika Motwani
Hansika Motwani (born 9 August 1991) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu films. She made her film debut as a leading actress in the Telugu film Desamuduru (2007), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. She then appeared in several high-budget Telugu films, including Kantri (2008) and Maska (2009). She started her career in Tamil cinema with Mappillai (2011) and then appeared in several commercially successful Tamil films including Velayudham (2011), Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013) Singam II (2013) and Maan Karate (2014) establishing herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses of Tamil cinema.
Hansika Motwani was born to Pradeep Motwani, a businessman and Mona Motwani, a dermatologist. She has a brother Prashant Motwani.[1] Her mother tongue is Sindhi[2] and she is a Buddhist.[3] She was born in Mumbai.[4]
Hansika attended the Podar International School in Mumbai.[5] She went on to study at the International Curriculum School in Mumbai.
